Curly hair styles

By

Curly hair seems here to stay, for another summer at least. This summer’s curls are looser and less defined than last years, but as always without any frizz if possible. Whilst this is great for all those curly girls out there some of us need a little help to get this look. The great thing about curly hair though is that it is really easy to achieve.

The easiest way is to wash your hair just before going to bed. Spread some hair mousse through it and then plait it into five or sixe plaits around your head. Be careful not to use too much mousse or you end up with a crispy texture to your hair. Sleep on your hair overnight and then in the morning take the plaits out. Your hair should now fall around your shoulders in natural waves. Loosen the sections up a little with your fingers, but don’t brush with a hairbrush. If you do that will only induce frizz which is not the look you’re going for. Then set the style with a little misting of hairspray. Be careful not overdo it as you want your curls to look natural.

If you haven’t got time for that then wash your hair and again put some mouse through it. If your hair has any natural wave then scrunch it up as you dry it with a diffuser to encourage the natural wave. Again set with hairspray.

If your hair is dead straight then us your hair straighters as curlers to get lovely flowing ringlets through it. remember to use your heat protection spray before using hair dryers or straighters to protect your hair from frizz and breakage.

Remember that curly hair is less shiny that straight hair because of the way the light falls on it so spray on a little shine spray before leaving the house.

If hair is naturally curly remember, condition, condition, condition. Your hair needs far more conditioner than straight hair, so buy a really thick conditioner and use liberally.

Nice to know that curls are back in style. Now I won't have to work at straightening my hair so much!
