The outdoor show
49
Well the Outdoor Show at the NEC is upon us again, how did that come round so fast? This year promises to be louder than ever with Kerrang providing the music. That sounds like the perfect mix to me, listening rock music whilst spending too much money on outdoor gear. It also has impeccable timing as I’m not sure what to buy my partner for his birthday; I’m sure inspiration will strike…
This year there are several new things going on at the show. Trespass have a high air trail above the show floor with a zip wire to take you back to ground. I’m sure this is aimed at the kids but they’ll have to get past us adults first!
Fat face have done a snowboarding challenge and a skate park on the Nintendo Wii which promises to be fun for all those wanting to try out the sports without actually falling over themselves.
As always there will be climbing walls to have a go on and the usual canoe and kayak pool which always looks like far more fun for the spectators. Maybe this year is the year I’ll be brave enough to give it a go.
Finally there is the Craghoppers stand. For anyone planning a gap year or an adventure holiday this stand is full of handy information for everything you need ton know from immunisations to apparently what to do if you get bitten by a crocodile. All important stuff obviously!
Besides the stands and the fun each year the Outdoor Show delivers an impressive range of speakers. This year is no disappointment with talks from Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Simon Yates and Bear Grylls to name but a few.
